Lissette Torres Gonzalez a bella Afro-Latina and her beautiful family has had an established online presence for quite some time. They been a part of many blogs, networks and websites over the past ten or so years. I followed Lissette after my very first interview with her some 7 years ago; and it got several hundred hits. Lissette and her husband Ali share a love so strong, that it literally came off the page to the readers.
It was love at first sight when Ada 23, saw Yan Yang 58, an artist from China visiting her home town of Freetown, Sierra Leone. Ada was so sure that Yan, significantly older was the love of her life, that within one month they were married and moved to China. Did she have any idea that her wedding would rival that of a Chinese empress? Probably not. But that is what she got.
Brennan Shares: I’m a happily married man and a recent father. My wife’s name is Ivy, a half-Panamanian and half-Mexican young woman. Her Panamanian mother has been remarried to a Caucasian man for nearly 20 years. So her parents were not remotely concerned about their daughter dating a white man.
Both Fawn Stone and Lakesha Yvette Walker were featured as singles on Interracial Marriage and Family, formerly Swirling and Marriage. I have not been single for quite some time but as a dating and life coach understand that it is quite hard out there for women everywhere to find love. Throw in beautiful, successful and accomplished black women, the odds rise even higher. I had lunch with Fawn and Lakesha in the summer and am still blown over in amazement as to why these young, sexy, gorgeous women at their age and in their respective professions were still single. I encouraged them, strategized and discussed a game plan for each. That game plan included swirling for these smart, hot, gorgeous women. Half the battle is won as they are very much open to interracial relationships. Neither Fawn nor Lakesha have limited themselves to dating black men only, but are inclusive of love in whatever skin shade they find it. That is a very good thing!

One Drop Rule? No Thanks! In our race obsessed country, I have recently noticed more and more discussions about that infamous One Drop Rule for whatever reason on the various blogs. Passing is still quite relevant evidently and some of the now obsolete terms that accompanied certain percentages of Negro blood. lol. I still say let people call themselves what they want to be called regardless of appearance. Back in the day, Hollywood’s famous Bennett sisters had no use for ‘one drop’ or anything that came with it. They successfully ignored their African roots.
Right from the start of period, competition and numerous civilizations have joined into significant and effective associations. Despite the fact that some have now been fulfilled with uncertainty and numerous resistance, there has been an infusion of interracial interactions with every competition and tradition. What’s most significant may be the love each connection stocks. Are interracial interactions a problem in the culture of today’s? Whenever you visit a handful of another competition together in the culture of today’s, what’s your thought?
Farhia and Jason were astounded that their beautiful wedding photographs went viral on the Internet. The pics of this chic and hip urban couple are on many many Blasian and interracial couples Tumblr site as well as bridal and wedding websites. I even covered them here on BBW. Amal and Nada, the fab female photographers who make up Black Earth Studios deserve an award for The Koyama Wedding Shoot. These photogragphs are absolutely beautiful. I did not want to just piece together facts and display photos, I wanted an interview. So now I am sharing a little of Farhia and Jason’s story with you. Farhia is very open minded and had no inhibitions dating or marrying interracially in the least bit.
Dale shares: This is my wife is Jamie. We met 3 years ago and will be married for 2 years in March. It was love at first sight for both of us. It actually took me a month to be brave enough to ask her out. Neither of us thought the other was interested, but obviously we were mistaken.
Could You Live On An Island For Love? Woman Shortage In The Faroe Islands according to recent reports, women seem to be disappearing from the Faroe Islands, an island group and archipelago set between Norway and Iceland (and about 200 miles from Scotland). Young women leave the Faroes to pursue their education or work elsewhere and they are not coming back. Their departure has resulted in a shortage of women on the Faroe Islands. They have such a shortage of women, that some of the men have taken to importing women from the Philippines and Thailand to marry and increase the population. Living on these beautiful but isolated islands is not for the faint or weary of heart. The climate is windy and colder but not all the time.
My husband is great for so many reasons. But tonight, it’s because his hands are in my fro! It feels like the good ‘ol days when I’d spend hours in front of the television as my sister would braid extensions into my hair. Oh, the nostalgia!
You may remember Mirriam Simasiku-Kim as she was featured in an earlier post about African women married to Korean men living in Korea. Well, Mirriam is a scholar from Zambia who so candidly and profoundly debunks myths we have believed about Africa forever.
We won’t go so far as to say it will happen to everyone, but we WILL say that you’re bound to find more than you bargain for – and we mean that in a good way – when you venture out past your own front door.

This Modern Love: Bridal Party Shots (Not the Kind You Drink). With the weather still not letting up, we had to find creative places to continue our photo session, so the bridal party met us in the atrium of the Nelligan.
Brian Garner shares about his wife Keiraq: Keiraq and I have been together for 21 years and married for 19 of those. We first met at a Mexican restaurant in the Washington DC area in 1993. I was working as a cocktail waiter and she came in with a bunch of women with whom I was attending Howard University, but I did not know her.
What an adorable couple! I found Mark and Ebony Schoenfeldt while looking for a different Mark and Ebony. I was thrilled to find this beautiful couple on their photo shoot by Amanda Hedgepeth Photography.
My adopted sister called me all excited about a guy that she knows. In her words “he is cute and is a nice guy”, ” can I give him your contact info?”. I told her okay she could. So we exchanged information and eventually landed on Whatsapp, where we text messaged away.
