I first met Paula when I came across her post on Weddingbee.com talking about she and Mr. B., her hubby moving to his country, Macedonia. I introduced myself and the next thing you know we were friends on Facebook. That was 2013. I have gotten to know Paula over the past year through our posts and pictures. As a black American woman married, living and working in Eastern Europe, Paula’s story is especially fascinating. She is holding it down for the sisters over there and doing a fantastic job of it I might add.
I came across a fab blog by a woman named Grace Buchele Mineta. She gives the good, bad and ugly of Asian Male white female relationships as she sees it. I found her post very refreshing. It looks like she has loads of fun with her Japanese husband. Read her story…

The size of the typical American family has gone down significantly in the last two centuries. In 1800, the average number of children was 7, in 1900 it was 3.5. With the widespread use of contraception, today the average number of children per family is about 2. However, despite averages, family sizes vary widely and some couples have a large family.
My husband is great for so many reasons. But tonight, it’s because his hands are in my fro! It feels like the good ‘ol days when I’d spend hours in front of the television as my sister would braid extensions into my hair. Oh, the nostalgia!
If you grew up in the 90’s like me, you may know of the twin actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry. Recently the twins sat down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss their lives in one of Oprah’s “Where are they now?” segments. The twins, born into a multiracial family with a black mother and white father, discussed what it is like to be married to their own husbands amongst other topics. The interview took a tide for the worst as they began to detail the response to their marriages. You see, Tia married a black man while her sister, Tamera married a white man.
You may remember Mirriam Simasiku-Kim as she was featured in an earlier post about African women married to Korean men living in Korea. Well, Mirriam is a scholar from Zambia who so candidly and profoundly debunks myths we have believed about Africa forever.
I found Krystal and Justin’s wedding on WedLuxe Magazine. I could not take my eyes off this classy couple and their Parisian and Versailles-themed wedding and reception.
We won’t go so far as to say it will happen to everyone, but we WILL say that you’re bound to find more than you bargain for – and we mean that in a good way – when you venture out past your own front door.
