I saw Farhia and Jason’s beautiful wedding of April 11, 2013 in pictures. Many have seen this couple’s fab photos as they are in various blogs and Pinterest boards. I fell in love these pics and went directly to the outstanding photographer ‘s website and of course I wanted an interview. They are Canadian — Farhia is Somali and Jason is Japanese. This is one of the most beautiful Blasian couples I have ever seen.
Previously we’ve talked about the fact that Tibetan men are interested in black women, but have you ever considered the Singaporean man? If you’re interested in interracial relationships and wouldn’t mind considering a man that may contain a few quirks, I have just the type of man for you! Keep reading to hear all about my time in Singapore and how I’ve come to realise the potential in Singaporean men.
From Uganda to Serbia, Rose Bugarčić’s Incredible Journey… In 2011 Rosa Josiah Mirembe Abbott Bugarčić or simply Rose, became the first black woman to be appointed to the Serbian government, specifically the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Originally from Uganda, is married to Serbian Zivko Bugarčić and they live with their 3 children in Belgrade. Minister Ivica Dacic officially charged Rose with the challenge to resolve issues mainly because of her expertise in European integration. She felt the need to do her part and contribute to Serbia’s application to the European Union.
All around the country, store are displaying the beautiful prom dresses in anticipation of the big night. Makeovers, shopping for that perfect dress, nails, hair, shoes, limo, after party and rules. It is a lot to cram in one date, but rules should be discussed with anyone who has a daughter, niece, sister about self-respect and expectations. Someone should also be talking to young men about decorum, expectations and how to treat a young lady. Having said that, I know what goes on at proms and school dances in general.
I know that I installed the word “VET” into my vocabulary as I found myself coaching more and more women on finding suitable mates. What if someone does all the right things, asks all the right questions and still ends up with a shyster? Well, Joy Richardson, a dear friend thought she married the man of her dreams and in just two weeks it started unraveling. I would venture to say that it started before that. We are blessed with a God given instinct and anything and I do mean ANYTHING that gives us reason to pause, or question a potential mate is sometimes the only sign or red flag you will get.
You have to see this spectacular multicultural wedding video of Cynthia and Hatim. They live in Paris and married in Hatim’s native Morocco. You see some elements from Martinique from where the bride hails, but by far we can’t help but notice marvelous Moroccan customs such as the professionals dressing the bride for a 5 time change of clothes. (Moroccan customs can have up to 8 clothing changes). Seems that no expense was spared as this is a real celebration. Obliviously Hatim loves this beautiful woman named Cynthia and she looks at him like he is a prince!
Luc & Marie
How to Plan a Wedding for a Bride and Groom with 400 Children
Excerpted From The Huffington Post by Marie Da Silva
Not everyone who gets married spends her time dreaming of just the right dress or where her honeymoon will be. My fiancé, Luc Deschamps and I, will be right here in Malawi, Africa, surrounded by family and friends who will come from around the world to celebrate with us when we get married. And most importantly, we will be with our 400 beautiful children from our school, “The Jacaranda School,” for children living with and orphaned by AIDS.
“I am originally from Los Angeles California but moved to Stockholm Sweden 5 years ago after meeting and falling in love with my Swedish husband while on a cruise vacation in the Caribbean. (That sounds crazy once you write it down). The moment we met, we knew we would be together forever . We celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary in November and we have 3 little girls aged 2.5 years and 14 months old twins.”
I came across a post by Lola Akinmade Åkerström’s blog advising black women seeking to live abroad. I had to share her inspiring blog from Heart & Soul from Jan. 22, 2011.
I was just thinking of one of my Japanese girlfriends and this wedding announcement from the New York Times came to mind. The Japanese and Koreans have a long history of bad blood. This in part due to harsh rule during Japanese occupation of Korea, comfort women, racism, mistrust and hatred to name a few. This love story just goes to show that some can still find love and happiness in spite of the bitterness between the nationalities/races.
Cherilyn and Terry Smith
Cherilyn Weekes Smith is very special — as she has been a powerful voice in Black Women Empowerment. Cherilyn, as she is known to followers of Black Women Deserve Better™ her blog, she promotes healthy, well living lifestyles for Black women. As well, she encourages marriage for Black women to high quality men regardless of race. Because Cherilyn practices what she preaches, it is not at all surprising that she took her own advice, and that of similarly minded bloggers.
Lynne & David Haahr
After speaking with Lynne Haahr, I could only shake my head in amazement with her cheer leading-like promotion of interracial relationships. She and her husband David are a true couple of the world. Could Lynne have known growing up as a military brat (as she calls it) that she would be living in some of the world’s most exotic places? Could she have known that her job, choice of mate (and his job) would expose her to life only dreamt of by others? Maybe, because it is second nature and with her award winning attitude, it falls right into place. Lynne’s is a wonderful “Living Well” story.
Ami and Yuan Q, from South Carolina a beautiful couple. When working in her business at Ami Creations, Ami can be found retouching, restoring or even digitally reimaging photos. She is really in her element as a professional makeup artist/ hair stylist preparing makeup and hair for brides and bridesmaids, or even designing graphics for the wedding. When Ami and hubby can relax at home, life these days is pretty low key. Transplanted from New York and China respectively, they enjoy a quiet life in Oklahoma with their miniature dachshund. Now in South Carolina, they’ve been living there comfortably for quite some time now; and being an interracial couple is not a key topic in their daily lives. Ami and Yuan are prime examples of how online dating can work and result in a successful marriage. Ami and I had a discussion about her life and marriage. Ami’s website is www.amicreations.com
