Swirling in History 8 – Marcella Ng
Not only was Centralia, Illinois native Marcella (Marcy) Ng the first black woman military pilot (Army) in 1979; but she and husband Dennis were also Blasian trailblazers. Mrs. Ng shared with me that she found all the swirling and blasian terms interesting because she and her husband have been together 33 plus years. After blazing trails through the sky, Mrs. Ng did eventually stop flying and retired from the Army as a Lt. Colonel. Today she and her family live in Texas near the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area. Mrs. Ng runs a pregnancy counseling center and are the owers of the beautiful 11 acre Mililani Woods , providing venues for weddings, graudations and all kinds of festive events. Read her fascinating story at the Centralia Fireside Guard.
