Patricia, a veteran swirler shared her wonderful story with us:  My husband and I have been married for 3 months.

In 2013, we both prayed to God and asked for the one He wanted for us.  On 1 January 2014 we were introduced through a mutual acquaintance.
I woke up on New Years Day to a Facebook notification. Our acquaintance made a post thanking God for a wonderful year of family and friends and posted a picture of Michael. I messaged her immediately and asked about him.

She let me know he was single and looking for his black queen. She then invited me over for dinner since he was one of her roommates. We hit it off from the start. Conversation flowed and he asked for my number. Our first date was to the church he attended and the second one was to see the movie Frozen!! We love cartoons!!! I needed to know I would be comfortable worshiping with him and it felt right. I am use to non-denomination services like Calvary Chapel and he like the Southern Baptist type.

Michael and Patricia at a family event

After a few weeks he told me he loved me and wanted to marry me. I am 53 and he is 48. I thought it was too soon and was surprised. He asked my middle son for my hand in marriage before proposing to me. Our children are young adults, my three sons are black and Mexican and his son and daughter, I have I have two handsome grandsons he calls his own and their mother our daughter in law. On 28 March 2014 he proposed and I accepted. He told me he wanted a June wedding and that it had been a while since he had his children on Father’s Day. We were married on Father’s Day!!!! What God has put together let no man put asunder. We worship, pray, disagree, and agree together. Building our foundation on God is what will help us weather any storm.
