Gorgeous and born with comedic talent, Lakesha, 29 stands on middle ground between the “Wild Child” and the “Diva.” As a comedy writer, she loves to laugh and have fun. However, she also provides balance to the trio and is sometimes their only voice of reason. Her work may be scripted but her life sure isn’t.
Listen up ladies. Lots of you are seeking love (or know someone who is) and I say love is where you find it. On the journey to finding true love, we may sometimes find ourselves with men (and boys for you younger/teen readers) who are blatant abusers. I say blatant because an abuser will show you who he really is from the very start. It is up to YOU to recognize the signs and take action.
Fawn Stone 27, is a gorgeous and super talented lady who does not like to get caught up in drama. Well, with the exception of on the screen drama. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Fawn returned to her home city Los Angeles after graduating from Howard University in Washington, DC to pursue a career in acting and as a television correspondent. Most likely, Fawn can be found strutting her stuff in her 3-inch heels, even in a bowling alley. She says, “Heels are more comfortable.”
Ladies, I know that many of you want to go to Europe, Asia or Australia. I am an advocate of international travel if for nothing else, the experience, different people, cultures, food, air and life in general. Many black American women are living happily overseas with their husbands and families. It is not for everyone, but I still advocate visiting. You may wonder how do you do it? There are several ways. Education, jobs, love, vacation or business are means of travel abroad. Some choose to live temporarily or plant roots. Consider all avenues and check them out thoroughly.
When Leontyne Price made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in January 1961, the final ovation lasted over 40 minutes. This United Negro College Fund ad clearly shows why. #BWDB
On The Rise is a one-hour reality series that will be depicted in a casual setting. It centers on the rather undiscovered lives of three phenomenal women. The show chronicles the lives of three friends – Misee, Fawn and Lakesha – and the challenges they face as they balance successful careers and living the single life. While a production crew follows their everyday activities, the three women show the audience that you can be professionally driven without losing your true self.
We are in the age of reality television. Some are great, informative, funny and all around good entertainment. Some are more on the drama side, making us cringe as we identify the one or two characters we love to hate. But we can’t stop watching. Well the newly anticipated reality show “On The Rise” may be a combination of all or none of what we are used to in reality television shows.

For as long as I have been coaching black women wanting to date and marry internationally, I have been asked what countries are best for swirling. Well, there is no one answer to that as interracial couples can be found in every corner of the globe. But as far as going to where they are, a few countries do come to mind and New Zealand is one of them. Finally a venue for some of the women to explore opportunities to travel to Kiwiland, a virtual untapped territory and see what or who they can find. Some women have actually decided that they want to immigrate to New Zealand and have taken the steps to get there by obtaining the proper Visa and work permits. Big shout out for those who know they want to go this route. It is a huge and bold move motivated in part to find happiness in life and love outside the US. Some are not ready for such a permanent move, but want to see if they could live there and just the beautiful country and what it offers. This tour is for you! Thanks to everyone who committed from the concept to fruition. I along with partners in New Zealand am happy to facilitate the “Black Women: New Zealand Is Calling You Tour”!
I am a certified Swirl Huntress and can find black women swirlers or interracial relationship/marriage related news in the outer most regions of the Earth. Imagine my surprise when I came across this movie with an African woman interracial theme! I was beyond thrilled reading about Feathered Dreams and the trailer did not disappoint. I love movies as much as the next person, but I have found other things to do with my time quite honestly these days. However, this movie I am putting on my “MUST SEE” list. Maybe that is because the last movie I saw was 9 months ago when I was braving the frigid, nose hair freezing North Pole, Alaska 51 degrees below zero days. After that experience, nobody should be asking why movies are low priority for or anyone in my family. But I digress.
