As I am always researching matters pertaining interracial families, I came across a post on The Salt Collective written by Liz Lin entitled. How Do You Raise A Multiracial Child?. As woman of Chinese descent, Lin’s experience differs from many of ours. But as a mother, it is not so different. We all want the best for our children. We want them to work hard, thrive and be successful.
Stella and Tim Parker – Colorado: A Mother-in-Law’s Hunch
When Stella Parker ventured west to Denver, Colorado from her home in Indiana, all she had was a dream and determination to be successful. Working hard at her job and completing her education, Stella hoped she would find a nice man and settle down. It took some time, but Stella would meet her future husband Tim through the most unlikely of situations —- her mother-in-law.
I love to see military couples. Andrew shares: This is my wife Jordan. Although we were friends from school, Jordan’s younger sister actually introduced us at church in August of 2012. We dated for a year and got married on September 21, 2014.
As a life coach who coaches women on high standards in looking for quality men I was particularly intrigued to read this post about Tia Mowry and her husband Cory Hardrict. Some women fall for anything and accept a man with no job, car, prospects nor potential for anything that remotely resembles being a good husband, father and provider. I advise clients of which to steer clear of these types and run the other way. They are disasters waiting to happen. I coach women on how to carefully vet men and eventually they will know how to spot keepers. In addition I recommend my clients read The Rules.
The beautiful Dorothy Dandridge, was legendary. She was a multitalented woman way ahead of her time. Dorothy’s mother Ruby and her lover Geneva Williams were abusive and taught Dorothy nothing about vetting good, quality men. Tragically almost every man in Dorothy’s romantic life left her heartbroken and broken.
Lissette Torres Gonzalez a bella Afro-Latina and her beautiful family has had an established online presence for quite some time. They been a part of many blogs, networks and websites over the past ten or so years. I followed Lissette after my very first interview with her some 7 years ago; and it got several hundred hits. Lissette and her husband Ali share a love so strong, that it literally came off the page to the readers.
Both Fawn Stone and Lakesha Yvette Walker were featured as singles on Interracial Marriage and Family, formerly Swirling and Marriage. I have not been single for quite some time but as a dating and life coach understand that it is quite hard out there for women everywhere to find love. Throw in beautiful, successful and accomplished black women, the odds rise even higher. I had lunch with Fawn and Lakesha in the summer and am still blown over in amazement as to why these young, sexy, gorgeous women at their age and in their respective professions were still single. I encouraged them, strategized and discussed a game plan for each. That game plan included swirling for these smart, hot, gorgeous women. Half the battle is won as they are very much open to interracial relationships. Neither Fawn nor Lakesha have limited themselves to dating black men only, but are inclusive of love in whatever skin shade they find it. That is a very good thing!
Want to meet Scandinavian Men? Black Women Scandinavian Marriage is a traditional, interracial dating site for singles who want to date and marry nationally or internationally. So once you join, you put in your criteria and see who comes up. It has a general data base so criteria is important.
Readers of BWDB, Beyond Black and White, Interracial Marriage and family have been treated to interviews of Lissette Gonzalez and her fabulous family. (See Color Blind & Valentines ). We were absolutely delighted in Lissette’s love for her husband Ali and children Kiara and Ulysses.
We are in the age of reality television. Some are great, informative, funny and all around good entertainment. Some are more on the drama side, making us cringe as we identify the one or two characters we love to hate. But we can’t stop watching. Well the newly anticipated reality show “On The Rise” may be a combination of all or none of what we are used to in reality television shows.
For years I have proudly waved the GOP banner and defended party politics to an extent. I am not one to make excuses for a proven racist Republican, and obviously I don’t think the party itself is racist. But, I am not a hardliner by any means and will call foul from my own party when I see it. Well, the Nation and I see it in Montgomery County, Illinois. I am outraged that Republican Party chairman Jim Allen, targeted Congressional hopeful Erika Harold who has the gall to run against Republican Rep. Rodney Davis. Allen really stepped in it this time going after Erika Harold in an ugly email with strong racial overtones.
Not only was Centralia, Illinois native Marcella (Marcy) Ng the first black woman military pilot (Army) in 1979; but she and husband Dennis were also Blasian trailblazers. Mrs. Ng shared with me that she found all the swirling and blasian terms interesting because she and her husband have been together 33 plus years.

How to Plan a Wedding for a Bride and Groom with 400 Children
Excerpted From The Huffington Post by Marie Da Silva
Not everyone who gets married spends her time dreaming of just the right dress or where her honeymoon will be. My fiancé, Luc Deschamps and I, will be right here in Malawi, Africa, surrounded by family and friends who will come from around the world to celebrate with us when we get married. And most importantly, we will be with our 400 beautiful children from our school, “The Jacaranda School,” for children living with and orphaned by AIDS.

I came across a post by Lola Akinmade Åkerström’s blog advising black women seeking to live abroad. I had to share her inspiring blog from Heart & Soul from Jan. 22, 2011.
If you are a black woman with an advanced degree, there’s a good chance you’ve never been married. New research from Yale University suggests that highly educated black women are twice as likely to have never been married by the age of 45 as white women with similar education.
Yvette Jarvis from Greece is just phenomenal. One description of goddess is a woman of great beauty or grace. Yvette M. Jarvis far surpasses this description being so many things to so many. Mother, politician, activist, model, singer, actress, entertainer and presently special advisor on Immigration to the mayor of Athens, Greece still somehow barely scratches the surface of this beautiful and ultra talented woman of the world.
Ami and Yuan Q, from South Carolina a beautiful couple. When working in her business at Ami Creations, Ami can be found retouching, restoring or even digitally reimaging photos. She is really in her element as a professional makeup artist/ hair stylist preparing makeup and hair for brides and bridesmaids, or even designing graphics for the wedding. When Ami and hubby can relax at home, life these days is pretty low key. Transplanted from New York and China respectively, they enjoy a quiet life in Oklahoma with their miniature dachshund. Now in South Carolina, they’ve been living there comfortably for quite some time now; and being an interracial couple is not a key topic in their daily lives. Ami and Yuan are prime examples of how online dating can work and result in a successful marriage. Ami and I had a discussion about her life and marriage. Ami’s website is www.amicreations.com
