Shocking: Man Murders His Family Then Commits Suicide
When I first heard about this tragic, tragic story, the first thing that came to mind was how the backlash of anti black woman / white male marriage and relationships would ensue. But I had to quickly analyze the case with the information I gathered from media. Michael “Augustine” Bournes for reasons still unknown to authorities put a bullet in the head of his wife Arie Arlynn Lee and their 3 children, Arie Lee Bournes, 1; Woodrow Lee Bournes, 4; and Augustine Lee Bournes, 5. Michael “Augustine” Bournes.
Before setting the family home a blaze and killing himself, Bournes called an acquaintance to tell of his evil deeds. His complaint was that his wife and been mocking and riding him all day. This man had a problem long before any amount of mocking or riding if true made him snap. I wonder if Arie Arlynn Lee had properly vetted Augustine Bournes. Did she know that his first wife had escaped him due to domestic violence? Did she get a clue from his anti government and police disposition? Did Mrs Bournes realized that she was being more and more isolated from her family and friends until there were out in the middle of nowhere, Montana? Obviously she became aware of his outbursts because she was very quiet around him. This may spell some mental illness and denial, but for sure it spells classic, text-book abusive relationship. Who knows how the abuse began to manifest itself before cutting off Arie Arlynn Lee’ from her family?
Augustine’s older daughter, 35-year-old Starla Shannon reported that people tried to tell him he needed to get help but his reply was: “He said he’d rather go to a vet than a doctor.” Mentally ill? Maybe. Cold, evil and calculating? For sure. And for those who want to claim that this is typical of white men who marry black women — a simple Internet search will reveal that black women are murdered by black men far more than any other race. If you don’t have access to the Internet, just turn on your local news. Women need to do a better of vetting their men regardless of the race.
Prayers being offered for the families of the victims. This is terribly sad.
